Scattered rain showers couldn’t stop the energy of Field Trip Day 2, featuring one of my person favourite acts: Yeah Yeah Yeahs; hot off of the anniversary of their debut album Fever To Tell, they showed that 15 years later they still have the exciting stage presence and emotional investment in their performance that they were known for as an up and coming NYC art-punk act. Day 2 also featured indie rock rising stars Alvvays, a rainy and powerful set from Japandroids, a southern style big band party from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (including a trombone driven cover of “Brain Stew” by Green Day) Allan Rayman’s energetic (and stumbling?) live show and the quirky pop of Allie X.
I was on the grounds to photograph the event for Canadian Musician Magazine, click below to see the pics on their blog!
